Express Entry Program

Express Entry Program

The Express Entry program is an immigration program run by the Canadian government to manage the selection of skilled foreign workers who wish to move to Canada permanently. It is a highly popular program that offers a faster and more efficient way for skilled foreign workers to become permanent residents of Canada.

The Express Entry system operates by ranking eligible candidates based on their age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and other factors that demonstrate their ability to succeed in the Canadian labor market. The program uses a points-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which assigns points to each candidate based on their qualifications.

Candidates who meet the minimum CRS score requirements are then invited to apply for permanent residence through one of the following economic immigration programs:

  1. The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  2. The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  3. The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The Express Entry program also allows provinces and territories to nominate candidates from the Express Entry pool through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The PNP is designed to address specific labor market needs of the provinces and territories.

The Express Entry program has revolutionized Canada's immigration system by introducing a more streamlined and efficient approach to selecting skilled foreign workers. It has also helped to address the growing demand for skilled workers in Canada's labor market, while promoting the country's economic growth and competitiveness on a global scale.
