IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an English language proficiency test that measures the ability of non-native speakers of English to communicate in English in academic and general settings. IELTS is accepted by universities, colleges, and professional organizations in many countries, including Canada and Australia, for admissions, scholarships, and employment purposes.
There are two types of IELTS tests: Academic and General Training. The Academic test is for people who want to study at a university or college, while the General Training test is for people who want to immigrate to or work in an English-speaking country.
CLB (Canadian Language Benchmarks) is a system that measures the proficiency of English or French language learners in Canada. It is used to assess the language skills of people who want to immigrate to Canada, as well as those who want to study or work in Canada.
The IELTS requirements for Canada PR vary depending on the immigration program you are applying for. For example, the Federal Skilled Worker Program requires a minimum score of 6 in each language skill (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) on the General Training test, while the Canadian Experience Class requires a minimum score of 5 in each language skill on the General Training test.
The IELTS requirements for Australia PR also vary depending on the immigration program you are applying for. For example, the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) requires a minimum score of 6 in each language skill on the General Training test, while the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) requires a minimum score of 7 in each language skill on the General Training test.
